Biblia lui Serban Cantacuzino 1688
Biblia de la Bucuresti (1688), monument al limbii romane vechi, reprezinta prima traducere integrala in limba romana, jucand un rol deosebit in dezvoltarea limbii literare.
Biblia de la Bucuresti (1688), cunoscuta si sub numele de Biblia lui Serban Cantacuzino, reprezinta prima traducere integrala a textului biblic in limba romana.
Traducerea a inceput in jurul anului 1682 avand ca surse de plecare: Septuaginta (Venetia, 1687), Biblia sacra polyglotta (Londra, 1653-1657), Vechiul Testament (Nicolae Milescu-Dosoftei, 1662-1668), Noul Testament (Alba Iulia, Simion Stefan, 1648), comparate cu traducerile in limba latina si slavona.
Traducerea a fost efectuata de catre un grup de carturari dintre care mentionam pe Ghermano Nisis si fratii Radu Greceanu si Serban Greceanu si a vazut lumina tiparului sub indrumarea tipografului sef Mitrofan.
